My Life in…

Books, Libraries, TV Shows, Movies, Life, Thoughts

So I arrived home from ALA Midwinter with all sorts of ARCs and I’ve managed to plow my way through them pretty well (only six book left!). So I’m pretty much set with books that are coming out this spring. Working on YALit keeps me pretty up to date with upcoming books and the books that have come out in the past few years since I’ve become a librarian.

But there’s a big hole in my reading knowledge. I was in college from 2000-2004 and while I read a lot of YA books in high school, I pretty much stopped reading for fun (except summers, at least until I found Harry Potter fan fiction) until I graduated. Even in the time since then, there have been plenty of books I’ve been meaning to read but haven’t quite gotten around to.

So since there isn’t anything coming out in March I’m dying to read (it helps that I’ve finished The Last Summer Of The Death Warriors, Shakespeare Makes the Playoffs and Saving Maddie), I’m going to spend March reading backlist books. Some of them are authors whom I’ve read before but missed a book or two, some are new to me but I’ve wanted to read them, and some are glaring omissions in my YA knowledge (ahem, Twilight). The books range in publication date, but I tried to make sure I didn’t pick the author’s most recent book.

I’m not going to put the 31 books I’ve picked out here, because I’m bound to hate a book and substitute it, and I’m not the greatest at sticking to a reading schedule. At the end of the month, I’ll compile a list for you.
