Book #63 of 2010
Title: Notes from the Blender
Author: Brendan Halpin
Publisher: EgmontUSA
Pub Date: October 26, 2010
Grade: B+
Comments: Declan is surprised when his dad tells him he’s remarrying, especially when he discovers his future step-mother already has a teenage daughter that attends his school. The two of them bond at a non-traditional church youth group, but Declan has trouble picturing them as siblings and would much rather have Neilly as his girlfriend.

This is a warm story of the nuttiness that happens in today’s complex families. This is full of great characters and lots of quirky situations. I enjoyed the inclusion of both religion and gay marriage as no big deal in a mainstream story.
